Bees Nest Under Siding

Control should proceed with caution.
Bees nest under siding. They build their homes under your porch eaves and cracks in your walls. During summer a top priority of most homeowners is to eliminate bees from the yard and property. If there are nests in the wall you may hear buzzing from all the bee activity. Bees will usually sequester themselves away in overhangs cracks window and door frames and under siding basically anywhere they can build a cozy nest.
Nests under roof eaves or in the ground. When the water has pressure and is soapy it will blast the nest. They are not easily controlled especially after they have established a large nest under the siding of the house. Common places for bees to hide and build nests include overhangs cracks window frames shutters door frames and underneath the siding.
If possible mark off any entrance holes you find so that you can easily identify them later. Spray the exit and entrance openings of the nest for one minute until the areas are thoroughly soaked. If you don t care about that chloroform will kill them nicely without removing the siding. Bees dance to communicate between each other.
Follow where they seem to disappear into the side of your house. If they have a substantial hive with a lot of brood eggs and larval bees it will rot and stink after the bees are killed. It would be hard to get a spray in there as i don t think it would go deep enough due to gravity. I m a beekeeper and i have been an exterminator also.

Another way of destroying the nest is to squirt dishwashing liquid into the end of your hose pipe and run the water until suds appear. Just put a small fire close by bbq or any other lit material beneath the nest.
Observe the bees during the afternoon as that is the most active time of day for yellow jackets. In the fall they often prefer sweets and can be a pest outdoors around soft drinks. The other method is to smoke the nest. Bees getting under siding leave them.
I have what i think are yellow jackets getting under the siding at the base of my house. If bees are making nests in your walls or attic you may find dead bees in windowsills or near doors. Bees can be annoying or even hazardous to us when they build their home near our own home. If wasps bees or hornets have built some sort of nest in the siding of your home you can do something about it.
Locate the entrance through which the bees are entering your siding. Buzzing noises in the wall. Wait a day and check the nest for activity again.
